I’m writing this on my phone, so here it goes.
~I soon as my son got on the bus I loaded up the car – only to realize most of my fly gear was in my hubby’s car, so I raided his stuff and stuffed it into my new Vedavoo Utility Belt and took off.
~Just FYI – I did remember my SmartWool socks–(cotton socks suck in waders). But I forgot I had my jeans on. :/
~I also brought my new Korkers wading boots and Costa sunglasses.
~I got down to the river and realized:
#1- I forgot my sunglasses in the car
#2- I was slipping so bad in my new boots, I felt like I had snot rockets strapped to my feet.
It took me forever just to get a few feet out because I kept slipping so badly. I was so dang frustrated, I turned around and went back to the car. I retrieved my sunglasses and realized that my old Korkers were still in my car…the ones with the Goat Head Sole Spikes in them. So I changed boots. I AM NEVER WADING AGAIN WITHOUT SPIKES. The difference is huge!! As soon as I got back down to the river I was confident and comfortable walking around again. When my kids start wading, you can guarantee Sole Spikes will be installed in their boots.
I found a nice little rock sticking out in the middle of the river and took a seat. It was perfect spot for casting. The fish were rising like popcorn all around me. They were pesky  picky fishies, but after a few hours I did manage to trick a few browns and rainbows into taking my fake bug.
Unfortunately I didn’t find any of those elusive brown-bows ;)
I know the weather is going to change here soon, so I’m trying to get all the fair-weather fishing in that I can manage now that my kiddos are back in school.
It was a good day.
