Hear ye. Hear ye. Are you tired of slipping on that snot moss and falling on your bum bum?!
These hard headed suckas will save your patooshie from certain pain and that awkward…’I look like I wet my pants, but really I just fell in the river and water got down my waders’ walk of shame.
We’ve all been there. Or at least most of us if we’re honest.
::Raises Hand:: Yup. Even me. So when Goat Head sent over these spikes for me to give a try – I didn’t hesitate! I really didn’t see any drawbacks. Seems like an extra ‘point’ of caution and safety wouldn’t hurt!
This review was a no-brainer.
Here are my 3 F’s:
Easy to install! AND you can un-install them and re-install them at any time!
Makes for less slippage in slippery places – ice, mud, moss, water, rocks.
Good extra self-defense measure during a round-house kick in the face with my wading boots to unwanted heathens who come near me.
They’re not just for wading – you can use them for running! Cons:
Not sure they’re entirely safe footware for a rafting trip.
Sneaking up on bigfoot isn’t as easily done with the extra noise the spikes make.
Not suitable for indoor wood floors.
~ Just go get them for yourself already — OR at a very affordable price you can safely add them to your Bday list, your Christmas list…your ‘must have’ list. You won’t be disappointed. AND purdy please do them a favor and ‘LIKE’ them on Facebook cause they’re cool:

I have the first set in the Southern Hemisphere (supposedly…)
It’s like 4 wheel drive for my two left feet – unlimited traction!!
Just stay off the vinyl floor (or the floor boards for that matter…

I wonder how these compare to Simms Hardbite Boot Studs…? I couldn’t imagine them being much different except for the price. The Goat Head spikes are nearly $10 cheaper…Great review!
[...] my sunglasses and realized that my old Korkers were still in my car…the ones with the Goat Head Sole Spikes in them. So I changed boots. I AM NEVER WADING AGAIN WITHOUT SPIKES. The difference is huge!! As [...]
Love my Goat Head Spikes!
Me too Jake!
Trying hard to get them established in Australia, and Geoff they are totally different to Simms studs, much better/more traction surfaces.
You can trail run in Goat Heads – not sure I’d feel so safe putting my ankles on the line with something else…
Rgds!
