Sooo I just so happened to meet Ryan Davis at one of the fly fishing film festivals here in Denver a little while back – he is one of the creators of the Ice Castles in Silverthorne. He gave me an open invite and last weekend I finally had the fantastic opportunity to take my little ones up the mountain. They are absolutely, as my 5 year old declared, ‘Awweesome’! The day we went was perfect – the traffic was mild and the weather was not too cold. We arrived just before sunset and I bundled up the kids in their snowsuits. As we approached the front gate the excitement from my kids was palatable. The Ice Castle lights had just been turned on and the structures were in their illuminated glory, which made for some amazing photographs. Jaw dropping ice structures unlike anything I’ve ever seen or experienced before. If you haven’t been, GO!
‘Like’ them on Facebook to get their updates!
